Wünsche Zappel-Philipp
A wish list site for the Kita Zappel-Philipp, a daycare in Marburg. Donors pledge items, buy them themselves and bring them in: no shop, no payments. I built it alone; it went live shortly before Christmas 2025, and around 50 wishes have been fulfilled.

01 · The idea
The daycare came to me through family and friends. It needed a way to collect wishes without running a shop. So donors don't pay through the site: they pledge an item, buy it themselves and bring it to the daycare. There are four lists, one for the whole daycare and one each for the Fuchs, Eulen and Mäuse groups.
02 · For donors
A donor can pledge several items in one go, with or without their name in public. A confirmation email links back to the pledge, and from there they can release it again themselves. Fulfilled wishes show up on the site.

03 · For the daycare team
The staff run everything themselves in an admin area. They sort lists by drag and drop, add items with images, shop links and categories, and keep the FAQ up to date. They mark donations as received, send reminders or cancel, and see each item's history. Admins only get notified about the lists assigned to them.

04 · Under the hood
Next.js 16 with the React Compiler, Tailwind and shadcn/ui on the front; Supabase for auth, Postgres and storage behind it. Row Level Security decides in the database who may see and change what. The tests run against PGlite, a real Postgres inside the test process, so the security rules are tested too. Emails go out through Resend, written with React Email.
05 · Outcome
The site went live shortly before Christmas 2025, and around 50 wishes have been fulfilled since. It's the lab project with real users outside my family, and I still work on it. It was also where my agent workflow got structure: conventions, issues as work packages, CI as a gate.
